A short story needs an opening that gives the reader something to follow, a developing situation and an ending that feels intentional. Before uploading, decide whether your piece stands alone or depends on earlier chapters. Use Stories for the self-contained version and Serials for ongoing episodes. A descriptive title and a short introduction help readers choose what interests them. Do not overload the opening with promotional text before they have a reason to care about the characters.
A useful editing pass before publication
Read the story once for plot and once for clarity. Check whether the reader can tell who is speaking, what changes during the scene and why the ending matters. Fix paragraph breaks and inconsistent names. Pick a category that matches the work rather than the most popular label. Add a cover you have permission to use and describe what it actually shows. The available story formats can change presentation, but your words should remain readable on a small screen.
Share the story with a clear invitation
Preview the post before publishing, then open its public link and read the first few paragraphs as a visitor would.
